Nash Community College recently announced its first graduating class of its Emergency Dispatch Academy---the first of its kind in North Carolina.

Four of the six graduates have already started their career with Nash County Emergency Services.

Crime Reduction Initiatives in Rocky Mount, NC

You can’t argue with results.

Over the past three years, there has been a steady decrease in Rocky Mount’s crime rate, a perfect example of what can happen when new city initiatives help with fighting crime.

 

The Rocky Mount Police Department (RMPD) has implemented several strategies, including ShotSpotter, Green Dot, Focused Deterrence Violent Crime Reduction Call-in and others.

Rocky Mount Fire Department Employees Train with the NC Helo-Aquatic Rescue Team

Recently, the Rocky Mount Fire Department (RMFD) employees trained with the NC Helo-Aquatic rescue team, assisted by the RMFD Swiftwater Emergency Response team. 

 

This means that citizens can rest assured that these professionals are ready to spring into action when needed most.
